Sales Manager Responsibilities:
Job Purpose:
1. The sales manager works in coordinating operations, delivering a proper
service to customers and optimizing the financial results of services
assigned.
2. Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures
attainment of company sales targets and profitability
3. Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search
of sales leads and prospects
4. Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new
markets.
5. Follow up with the agents for the booking
6. Preparing schedules
7. Circulating schedule to Customers and to agents
8. Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as
needed
9. Provides monthly Sales Report to General Manager regarding sales
performance.
10. Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports
submitted by Account Executives.
11. Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines
12. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics
codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within
the team.
13. Maintains contact with all clients in the market to ensure high levels
of client satisfaction
14. Handles customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner
15. Provides guidance and support to the logistics team on a daily basis
16. Training and development of the operations team including
performance evaluations.
Skills
Sales Manager Requirements:
1. More than seven years sales experience of which three to five years in a
sales management capacity in an NVOCC/ freight forwarding environment
2. Degree / Diploma in Business Administration or Sales & Marketing
Excellent interpersonal abilities with great networking skills
3. Good computer skills (shipping software, related logistics/ shipping/
marine certification, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Analytical, numerical and
problem-solving skills when under pressure and with tight work deadlines
4. Able to effectively manage and communicate with a diverse and
multicultural team.
5. Commercial flair and ability to develop new business
6. Strong leadership, management and motivational abilities
7. Experience in international environment an advantage
8. Service-oriented, resilient, hands-on personality
9. Strong Communication Skills
10. Independent work style but team player
